I found a ~6-month-old German Shepherd mix wandering near downtown Wilmington a couple of months ago. I tried to locate her owner, but they abandoned her and don’t want her back.
With help from a local rescue, she’s now spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
She does have some challenges—resource guarding and reactivity toward strangers. I’ve worked with her, and she learns quickly (very food motivated), but she needs a more experienced home than I can provide. This situation has also started affecting my ability to care for my own pets and health.
She plays well with other dogs when food isn’t involved and doesn’t chase small animals. At home, when she feels safe, she is incredibly sweet, funny, and loving.
She would do best as the only pet in a home with a fenced yard and an experienced owner who can continue her training.
I know she’s worth it. I’ll cover the adoption fee for the right home. Free application with the local rescue required.
