Jasper is one of the sweetest, most gentle, and hungriest dogs I have ever fostered. He was found by a Good Samaritan scrounging for food at the Edward Teach brewing company dumpster in Pender County. He had a severe case of heart worms and malnutrition which were hard on his already skinny little body, but he is doing much better now :) This is the first Walker Hound I’ve fostered that gets along well with cats and doesn’t bolt when off leash. He is under 50 lbs, housebroken, and the vet guessed his age to be between 7 and 9, although he has been through so much, it’s really hard to tell. He doesn’t have any destructive habits and is happiest just sleeping near you:) He will need good veterinary care, so a vet reference is a must, but he will make a wonderful companion to the lucky person/family looking for a gentle, loving hound. Thanks for reading his story and please message me if you think Jasper the Survivor is the dog you’d like to give a second chance.
