Up for sale is a VERY rare animal: This is a one-year (2002) production Snapper S1838 Chainsaw, and it's in about as close to new condition as it can be. This is one of those saws that someone bought, used twice, then put it away in the garage not to be seen for another 20 years!
Yes, it's that clean in all respects. I've been over it, pulled the deteriorated fuel lines from it and installed new, cleaned the carburetor (was nearly spotless even with the old fuel that was in it), cleaned the fuel filter, replaced the deteriorated air filter, replaced the cracked primer bulb, checked the cylinder for any scoring or other damage (it looks brand new "inside"), cleaned the like-new spark plug and gapped it, then put everything back together and pulled the starter a few times. She fired right up!!! I could probably tune it just a bit, but it runs great.
This saw was a limited production run, made for one year, and it's in excellent shape. Everything about this saw says it has a 38cc motor on it, but it's actually a 42cc motor per factor specs. Why the model number has "38" in it is unknown to many.
See the photos, and reach out through CL with any questions or to arrange an inspection / pickup time. Thank you!
