First things first: these professional grade wood veneer rolls are between 15-20 years old and may or may not have been properly stored in order to maintain their integrity (efficacy and effectiveness). Thus, I'm selling them *AS IS* without any guarantee they'll work for your intended application. What I can tell you is that I spoke with a product specialist at A&M Supply in Charlotte, North Carolina where these rolls were purchased, who told me the following:
- Their age and their relative dryness levels might prevent them from being used in applications where bending/contouring/sculpting/molding is required, but flat surfaces should still be okay -- "especially if hydrophilic methods are introduced" (meaning they're re-hydrated from a source such as cold steam)
- These rolls are from a product line called "Proflex" that require the veneer and a substrate ("a glue has to be used")
Given this information, I'm pricing these veneer rolls at a fraction of their original cost, with the understanding that:
1. You're taking a bit of a (calculated) risk because I'm selling them AS IS without returns, but...
2. Should you be able to (re-hydrate them and) use them effectively for your specific application, then you're making out like a bandit!
I should add that I have so far sold more than 25 of these rolls without an issue or complaint.
This particular species, Cherry, appears to have maintained its moisture composition and thus it's flexibility quite well.
