The housing market is rebounding and with interest rates low… we are ready to deal. ALL OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED. We originally had it on the market for $329,000 – but we have lowered our price so you may add a garage or purchase an extra lot if you desire. More information about our home and the area. Our daughters went to West Brunswick High School and One got a scholarship to the U of South Carolina. The youngest which graduated last year got a scholarship to Charleston Southern where her boyfriend (who graduated from West Brunswick in 2006) got a full ride to play football. Cedric Simmons, who graduated from West Brunswick now plays in the NBA!!!
It is a sports-oriented area and the school system is top notch. Our girls are now graduated and we have three boys still at home. They attended Supply Elementary School (less than a mile from our NC house) and they are all athletes and scholar athletes. We have made the move to Michigan where the schools are among the best in the nation and our boys are straight "A" students.
Being only 15 minutes from the Atlantic ocean gave us many hours of inspiration at Holden Beach – and our boys were in many surfing competitions there. We also did a lot of training there – taking many long runs on the beach.
We loved the North Carolina area - the taxes were three times as low as South Carolina, the tourists all go just below the NC/SC border to Myrtle Beach and the living is very stress free and easy. Our taxes were only $800 per year. Here in Michigan - a house like that would cost us about $3600 in taxes.
We planned to retire in that home, but God had other plans and we took a church here in Michigan. We put the best of everything into that house from custom tile countertops to ceramic tile floors to Hardy Plank siding and a 50 year shingle guarantee. We also bought the lot in an area where lots have tripled in price. We bought the biggest and the best lot in the development which included the huge pond, the wooded acreage and the open field lot next store (many football games were played there)... we also left our basketball goal there because we did not want to transport it.
Although the home is within a half hour from major shopping malls to the north and south, and a Wal-Mart and major fast food chains six miles to the south in Shallotte, you'd swear you were in the country. Feels rural with the White Egrets that fish in the pond which fish during the morning hours and the family of 8 deer which stop for a drink under the moonlight in the evening. You can sit on the covered 30 foot front porch and rock in the rockers as the sun goes down - or sit in the enclosed 12' x 10' glass/screen porch in the back and watch the hummingbirds feeding.
