Re: Proper Guitar technique (Wilmington, NC)

Wow. three paragraphs of rambling...You obviously have not been out to see any music in town in the last 10 years except the rusty nail. There are tremendous players all over town that have wonderful expression and tone, as well and technique. Most of us real playing musicians in town play all over the region not just locally but I can tell you off the top of my head that guys like Brett Johnson, Gary Steele, Alex Lanier, Adam Carswell, Tommy Brothers and many others are more than "String benders" or "Van Halens" or "Hendrix comps" we live in a modern world with a vast landscape of music that is readily available at any given moment. The days of someone being a one dimensional player are gone. I've seen and experienced both sides of musical development as I started as a one genre/one style player but in 2014 guitar playing and even music in general is like an all you can eat buffet of mixed pot knowledge and I love it. Players of the past paved the way and their influences are not forgotten by any means but from where I stand and can see, a new wave of talent is always cresting in the distance regardless of the nostalgic ramblings of an anonymous poster. I normally don't reply to anything on here but today I'm bored so there you have it.
